Our Government has promised real change in Canada. That means investing in middle class families and making sure they have every opportunity to succeed. It means creating jobs by making the right investments in roads, bridges, transit, housing and green infrastructure. It also means doing politics differently, talking to people, bouncing ideas off one another and working together towards innovative solutions.
As we look to Budget 2016, we know there’s never been a better time than right now to make the right investments. Investments that create jobs, put more money in Canadians’ pockets, and support economic growth.
We have seen the difference that open dialogue can make in achieving real change, and we have options about how to invest, where to focus our efforts, and how to grow an economy that works for Canadians. The Liberal Government knows that Canadians like you are on the front lines of our economy every day, and real change means listening to your concerns and ideas.
In Mid-January, pre-budget consultation meetings were held throughout Guelph providing a genuine opportunity for the community to give suggestions for budget priorities. Guelphites stood as they did on October 19th, and announced their resounding support for investment in child care, renewable energies, increased access to broadband networks, and infrastructure.
Just as we have, tens of thousands of Canadians have already engaged and shared their thoughts for Budget 2016 through meetings, events and through online channels – the highest-ever turnout for pre-budget consultations on record.
If you missed one of these meetings or have more to contribute we want to hear your ideas and concerns, there are many ways that you can get involved: Sorry – these consultations are now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated.
