Electoral Reform

Canadians have the opportunity to participate in a national dialogue and shape our future electoral system at the federal level. The Special Committee on Electoral Reform was accepting briefs and has made a questionnaire to better understand Canadians views. Consultation closed as of October 2016.

Canada Post Review

The Government of Canada is inviting Canadians to share their views in an independent review on the future of Canada Post. This review will help to ensure Canadians receive quality service from Canada Post at a reasonable price. Consultation closed at the end of August, 2016.

International Development

Climate Change Consultation

Provincial, territorial and federal governments are working together with Indigenous Peoples and the public to find ways to encourage clean economic growth, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and prepare for the impacts of climate change. Consultation will close at the end of July, 2016.

Feedback: Medical Assistance in Dying

On April 14th, the Government of Canada introduced legislation that aims to give dying patients in an advanced state irreversible decline, who are suffering intolerably from a serious illness, the choice of a peaceful death.

As your Member of Parliament, it is important for me to understand your thoughts on this bill. The upcoming votes on this bill are free votes, and I intend to vote in the way that I believe best represents the people of Guelph.

Pre-Budget Consultation

In Mid-January, pre-budget consultation meetings were held throughout Guelph providing a genuine opportunity for the community to give suggestions for budget priorities. Guelphites stood as they did on October 19th, and announced their resounding support for investment in child care, renewable energies, increased access to broadband networks, and infrastructure.
